Adventure Travel World Summit
mark your calendar today!

The Adventure Travel Trade Association in 2008 will host two distinct Adventure Travel World Summits on two continents. This move allows the ATTA to improve marketplace access to influencers throughout the supply chain and allows more tour operators and tourism entities better access to executive level conferences.

Tapping new destinations calls attention to hot spots around the world which provides qualified trade professionals unparalleled opportunities in a single trip to participate while exploring new product by participating in FREE regional pre- and post-Summit FAM tours by host destinations and nearby countries.

Both 2008 events include the basics:

  • Decision makers representing tour operators, destination marketing organizations, tourism boards, travel agents, adventure accommodations and worldwide media;
  • Dynamic speakers, interactive workshops with both strategic and practical value;
  • Vibrant business-to-business networking;
  • Regionally specific business needs along with global sustainability and growth issues; and
  • Adventure travel FAM and press tours surrounding each Summit for qualifying participants.

Which to attend?
Each company will want to consider sending personnel to both events. Here’s why:

In Brazil, our South American event will be held concurrent with the Brazilian Adventure Sports Fair, which draws an estimated 70,000 consumers and thousands of tourism companies and allows ATWS participants to sample and network within a vibrant event. We expect to draw 600 delegates to the ATTA Summit, with flexibility for both large and small workshop sessions and extra (not exclusive) emphasis on the American markets – North, Central and South America. We anticipate a wide-range of personnel – from CEO to the manager level, and participants from different business disciplines. Here, the driving influence behind the event is to join forces to widely professionalize and promote adventure travel worldwide.

In Brazil, heavy emphasis will be placed on:
  • Practical tools for day-to-day needs
  • Focus on operations, guide support and recruitment, publicity, industry best practices
  • Memorable keynotes
  • Connecting incoming companies with Brazilian and South American partners in a marketplace environment
  • Top-level trends and research for future planning
In Norway, we will be sailing aboard Hurtigruten’s Midnatsol passenger ship visiting numerous ports amidst World Heritage fjords. We will assemble an estimated 300 executives – primarily CEO, senior leaders/owners, and chief marketing officers from around the world, with higher levels of participation expected from North American, European and African markets. The ship’s intimate environment will lend itself well to small, dialogue based sessions focusing on visionary, strategic, big picture organization and systemic issues today and for the future. Conference, on-shore activities and structured networking at a relaxed pace will be carried throughout the 4-day voyage.

In Norway, heavy emphasis will be placed on:
  • Peer-to-Peer executive level networking, both structured and informal
  • Research & trends
  • Focused, in-depth (2 hour) sessions – with special emphasis on marketing and sales
  • International partnership development
  • Adventure travel as a vector of sustainable development

Please visit each preliminary agenda to see how each event is likely to serve your business’ needs. We agree, it’s likely to be a difficult decision. Don’t hesitate to contact us to help you sort out which event is best for you.
